10 (new) reasons to avoid Disney this season

The past 365 days have seen EVEN MORE liberal politics from Disney.

With two big films afoot (Moana 2, Lion King 2) and Christmas shopping ahead, please take a moment to review my 10 reasons why Disney’s 2024 political antics deserve a passing on Disney products—until the company improves.

#1. Disney tried to blackmail Elon Musk’s media platform X.  Around this time last year, a group of advertisers including Disney began pulling their ads from X (formerly Twitter) in response to Elon Musk removing political censorship on the social media platform. Elon Musk warned, “What this advertising boycott is going to do is, it is going to kill the company.”   Musk accused Disney President Bob Iger of outright “blackmail.”   Musk is 100% correct , since there has been a coordinated national effort to blacklist and destroy independent media.  Just weeks ago the European Federation of Journalist called for a mass European media pullout of  X.   Remember Iger’s motivation since he was a top fundraiser for President Obama and Hillary Clinton and he himself harbors ambitions to run for president. This is why Disney went from being a normally quiet company to non-stop politics — even weighing in on local state issues. Iger is using Disney as a weapon to harm political opponents. Anyone who values Musk’s efforts to ensure a free press should be alarmed at Disney trying to bankrupt his social media company.

#2. Snow White promotes defunding police, harm to Trump voters. Disney hired a known far-left political activist, Rachel Zegler, to play Snow White in Disney’s upcoming 2025 live-action remake. Four years ago, Zegler called upon her fans to “defund the police”.  At the same time she called Trump a racist. Now, four years later after the recent election, Zegler publicly Tweeted a curse upon Trump voters, saying they should never know peace in their lives. Zegler called for a boycott of X to bankrupt the media company (sound familiar?). The actor also recklessly directed her attacks on the original Snow White by calling Prince Charming a “stalker.”. Zegler ridiculed Snow White’s quest for love and described Prince Charming as so useless he could be removed from the film altogether and it wouldn’t matter to the Snow White story.   Also, insider rumors point to the new Snow White’s plot to feature her as “an independent, liberal socialist.”

#3. Disney snubs little people over Snow White dwarf roles. In trying to be politically correct, Disney shunned the use of small actors to play the dwarves in the new 2025 Snow White film. Instead, the company hired mostly tall actors and made Snow White’s dwarves tall. When this sparked outrage, Disney changed its mind and decided to re-shoot their scenes using computer generated dwarves. This decision has serious consequences of pushing people with dwarfism out of the film industry and making them disappear altogether. A 2023 Willy Wonka film used a tall actor to play a computer-generated small Oompa Loompa. The cancel culture push to exterminate small actors from traditional fantasy roles is leading to their cinematic extinction.

#4. Disney promotes extreme Trump basher to starring role. When conservative Disney actress Gina Carano tweeted a post calling censorship of free speech a form of Nazism, she was fired within days. When liberal Disney actor Pedro Pascal tweeted that Trump voters were all Nazis and members of the Ku Klux Klan, he ended up with a promotion. In 2024, Pascal received the starring role in the new Fantastic Four film even though he is a terrible fit for the part.

#5. Disney bashes capitalism.  In 2024, Disney’s Dr. Who featured an episode where the enemy was capitalism itself as one TV writer described the episode as, “a gritty suspense thriller where Capitalism is the biggest monster in the universe.”   Disney is teaching children that capitalism is evil.   Speaking of capitalism bashing, last year Disney’s Indiana Jones 5 featured one of the heroes blasting “capitalism” as nothing more than outright theft.   Also last year, Disney’s Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse, had one of the heroes compare “capitalism” to something that destroys itself into oblivion.   Also last year, Disney’s super-hero film, Quantumania, featured one of the heroes touting the benefits of “socialism”.   Next year’s Snow White is expected to have themes of socialism in the plot. You can clearly see that Disney writers are far-Left political writers and are injecting their toxic politics into children’s movies.

#6. Disney violates accounting rules that others live by. In 2024, Disney settled a major lawsuit where it was accused of using “nearly every trick in the Hollywood accounting book.” Critics charge Disney with hiding its large losses by selling one money-losing Disney product to a division within the company that was making money, which ended up producing false financial results for investors.

#7. Disney aims to bastardize Tom Sawyer Island in the name of politics. In 2024, Disney announced plans to destroy the beloved Tom Sawyer Island and drain the Rivers of America around it to make room for more food vendors, merchandise, and attractions. This is like tearing down the Statue of Liberty to make room for a Dollar Store. Walt Disney himself considered his invention of Tom Sawyer Island as one of his crowning achievements at Disneyland. Demolishing Tom Sawyer Island is part of Disney’s way of erasing American heritage and Walt’s patriotic visions within the parks he created.

At its unveiling, Disneyland’s Frontierland featured both everyday cowboy and Native American life. It was wildly popular—except for a few naysayers who said you can’t show peaceful co-existence between the two worlds, not even for a moment. To appease the progressive politically correct, Disney scrubbed all Native American exhibits from Frontierland. Now people saw nothing at all of the natives. Cancel culture hates Tom Sawyer, Mark Twain, and American history. Destroying this American treasure would be a sad loss. Interesting fact: when Disney Paris was planned, the company surveyed Europeans on which land theme they would most like to see built. Europeans’ No. 1 choice by far was Frontierland. The world loves American history; it would be a shame to eradicate American icons to appease a small group of far-left critics obsessed with purging our culture.

Another example of America bashing came when Disney hero, Spiderman, had a film scene where his girlfriend refused to visit the Washington Monument along with her classmates.  She said it was built by slaves.   This is simply not true.   There is not a single piece of evidence.   There is enough examples of racism in our history without having Disney invent ones.   So sad that Disney and Sony pictures are using our children’s American heroes like Spiderman to teach them false history.   A Disney cartoon show targeted to middle schoolers, The Proud Family, teaches children that Abraham Lincoln did not free the slaves.

#8. Disney hired animators based on their politics. According to Film Threat’s D-Files series, Disney made across-the-board firings in its animation department to save costs. It then recruited new animators from the far-left dominated social media website Tumblr. For those unfamiliar, Tumblr used to be one of the internet’s largest social media platforms until it collapsed, in part due to liberal cancel culture driving out creators. Many of Disney’s Tumblr recruits had some art skills but had little experience in animation as they were chosen for their leftist politics according to Film threat. Both the political decision and casting out of legacy animators really hurt Disney’s reputation and quality. For instance, Disney celebrated its highly important 100-year animation anniversary with a film called Wish. Many have called Wish the single-worst animated film quality Disney has ever made, causing a huge embarrassment for its 100th anniversary. Audiences fled and Wish lost a staggering $130 million at the box office. The epic-size $200 million budget of Disney’s film Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania had the sci-fi look of a cheap video game. Audiences fled, and Quantumania lost a stunning $150 million at the box office.   The evidence of this political recruitment can also be found in the news stories that reveal that within corporate Disney many employees live in fear of being fired for their personal thoughts, political and religious beliefs.

#9. Empty morality fed to middle schoolers. This next reason is difficult to explain but important to follow along to understand some truly unethical decisions being made.  Disney has two franchises, Star Wars and Marvel comic superheroes, that are both famous for their high virtues and clear distinctions between right and wrong. American superheroes are known for their courage, sacrifice, patriotism, good manners, and good will—superheroes by nature are above and beyond average people in goodness. Star Wars distinguishes it as the “light side” and “dark side” of the force in the galaxy, one of the best metaphors of good and evil ever created in all of movie making.  In 2024, Disney’s Star Wars series, The Acolyte, decided to take this world famous metaphor of good/evil and just abolish it altogether by introducing a new morally ambiguous Star Wars universe.   It started when Acolyte actor, Charlie Barnett, said “The Best Parts About Star Wars Is There Is No Good Or Evil” which completely reversed how Star Wars was seen by fans.   The Acolyte, then took the famous virtuous people of Star Wars, called Jedi Knights, and transformed them into evil people who lied, deceived, acted cowardly and even stole other people’s children to recruit new members. This was a continuation of moral ruin with Disney’s Star Wars Andor series where Disney introduced prostitutes, sexual one-night stands, and merciless cop killing (without any justification) into the formerly family-friendly Star Wars stories.

As for Marvel and their super-heroes, the eight-part series Agatha this year, exalts a comic book villain to the role of a hero.  Another example of perverse reverse morality for children.  Agatha features a group of witches lead by hero-witch Agatha who go around attacking, manipulating, harming, and killing each other for decades with no discernable compass of right or wrong. The entire eight-part series features almost no discernible hero qualities or traditional movie plot device of good and evil.  Both Marvel’s Agatha and Star War’s Acolyte are morality-free shows where all characters have no standards and everyone lies, cheats, and steals. Both shows throw in clothing-free moments that seem grossly inappropriate for their target audience of middle school children. It is one thing for Disney to make valueless trash films but quite another to hijack existing children’s programs cherished for decades and then proceed to morally degrade all the heroes, introduce adult content, and blur the lines of good and evil.

Additionally, Disney’s Dr. Who series recently has added sexualization to the main character as well as profanity and disturbing horror-like themes to the show.   People must realize that all three franchises, Star Wars, Dr. Who and Marvel movies went 50 years as a family friendly series.   It wasn’t until Disney took control that they had their first ever examples of profanity, adult content and reverse morality.

#10. Bad religion.  People do not expect Disney to take up religion, but they have and they have chosen to go very dark with it.

In 2024, Disney’s Dr. Who had an episode where it openly attacks religion. One social media commentator describes it, “the entire episode is an allegory against Christians and religion”.  Soldiers wear priest collars because Christians are displayed as war-hungry. When someone asks, “Since when was the church an army?” Dr. Who replies “Since most of your history”.

In the episode, war-machines say “thoughts and prayers” before they kill you.

In the same episode, the hero, Dr. Who, describes faith as “the magic word that keeps you never having to think for yourself”.   Not only is religion deemed evil — just having any faith is portrayed as a failure to think properly.  A little girl tells Dr. Who that her mom died and was now in heaven by saying her mom “got gathered up by God”. It is presented as a way that the girl is naive and wrong about the after life. Later the girl is seen older and seems happier now that she refers to her mom as just being dead (instead of in heaven).  Disney is teaching children that there is no afterlife — and that children will be happier if they just accepted the fact that their loved ones who died are permanently extinct.  People have different views of the afterlife.  It is among the greatest of human mysteries.  This is why it is so strange to see Disney fight so hard to decide this for your kids for you.

In Disney’s 2024 Loki season 2 series, the legendary Norse god of wickedness and lies is the show’s hero.   This evil god ends up permanently ascending to the throne of all power in the entire universe (multiverse too).   The god of evil now controls time, oversees all people, knows all things, controls all people and has becomes omnipotent like God Himself. The god of evil is now the supreme god of all in the Disney universe.

In Disney 2024’s Agatha all along, a wicked witch is featured as the exalted representation of Death itself and gains control over every single person’s death (and life) in the entire universe. Death is immortal, all-knowing, and resembles the grim reaper but without any judiciousness. She is shown as killing a child for no given reason and acts sensually exhibitionist around people.

In Disney’s 2021 Thor: Love and Thunder, we see all the gods of the world in a single place called omnipotent city.   Jesus was originally planned to be featured in this city along the other gods but the director pulled the idea at the last minute.   We are introduced to this grand all-god city with one of the heroes saying “holy s**t”.  (nice touch Disney).  It is described that all the “created” gods in the universe exist here including the god of dumplings which is a divine dumpling on a spoon.   We see luxury and scantily clad concubines.  Zues tells the audience of gods,  “I hereby open this holy council of the gods. Where we have many, many serious matter to be talk about. Such as, where are we going to hold this year’s orgy? … So now we’re going to announce the winner of the, “Most human souls sacrificed in the name of a god”.  Zeus tells Thor to start drinking and that “anything goes here” (because things of the divine are more perverse than the things on earth) .  This is a bit much for children’s comic book hero program.

This obscene religious display is a follow-up to Disney’s 2021 Eternals where Disney introduced kids to the concept that all religions are effectively based on lies. The world’s fake gods are based on these real hidden gods called Eternals who behave like the worst of human beings as they lie, cheat, kill and behave cowardly. Disney shows these gods having sex out in the open and flipping each other off when they are upset. Disney also pushes Eternals film merchandise McDonald’s Happy Meals, which means the company is targeting this warped religion view to six year old boys and girls.

We extend artistic license to Disney to explore spirituality and fantasy, but when we examine these 5 different religious themed films over three years we see a pattern of religion bashing, extreme dark spirituality, twisted morals and perverse adult content aimed at children as young as 6 years old.

CONCLUSION:

Remember, all of these main 10 points occurred in just the last 365 days.   That is a lot of politics, Trump bashing, capitalism smashing, socialism touting, religion slandering and other unethical behaviors for just one single year.  These 10 main points are often followed by other same examples from 2021, 2022 and 2023 which means it is a chronic pattern.   People should avoid Disney this season until things get better.

BONUS POINTS:

Answer to common criticisms: When I have discussed this topic previously, critics respond by saying some of the films/shows mentioned are meant for adults, are rated PG-13 or are age limited on Disney+.   First of all, Disney should not be creating adult content of franchises that have been family friendly — some for nearly 70 years.   That is wrong.   Second, Disney puts super-heroes and Star Wars characters on toddler clothes and toddler toys.   They sell Happy Meals to 6 year olds promoting adult-content films that these kids cannot attend.  This is predatory marketing.  Third, because of these two previous mentioned factors, children do watch the adult content films.  Go to a Disney PG-13 film and you will see 6-year olds in the audience.   Fourth, everyone allows Disney to produce super-hero films with more older age-appropriate content.  The public just asks Disney to  create a different intellectual property around that franchise and market it to that age-appropriate audience.  Don’t mix adult-content with children’s content is all we ask.

Bastardizing Tom Sawyer Island—Part 2: Not only do liberal Disney executives dislike Tom Sawyer and Mark Twain, but some dislike Walt Disney himself.    Walt Disney was an outspoken anti-communist.   He was overtly patriotic.   Disney recently removed the longstanding annual tradition of broadcasting Walt Disney’s famous opening-day speech on Disneyland’s birthday.  The speech is very patriotic.   It is telling that it has quietly been removed.   The company has also removed one of their iconic Walt Disney statues from the park.   There is also talk of Disney removing “Walt” from the name “Walt Disney World”.  These may be small signs that some in Disney are pushing to distance themselves from their founder.
