Oregon Governor Kotek just released state budget for 2025-2027 goes off-topic and out of its way to send warnings about the Trump administration in 2025.

Kotek’s budget says (page 2) “Many of the sources of the post-covid inflation flare-up appear poised to be present, or reemerge in slightly different forms, during the next presidential term … including immigration restrictions, fiscal policy and tax reform“.

Kotek is saying that inflation may re-emerge and go up in 2025 if Trump is successful in cutting taxes.

That is not how it works.

In fact, that is exactly how it works in opposite.

Trump cut taxes in 2017, and inflation was low. Biden raised taxes (and regulations) and inflation went up.

Governor Kotek also warns that if Trump is successful in closing the border that it too will cause inflation.

What Governor Kotek will NOT TELL YOU … and what we will tell you is that Oregon and other liberal states make up the nation’s top inflation states (cost of living).

Maybe Governor Kotek as head of one of these high-inflation states could learn from the low inflation and low-tax states.
