My New Year always seems to involve political trash

I start my New Year’s out in nature, and it seems like I am too often unable to enjoy the NW without spotting political graffiti.

As seen above, this year, I walked the beach at Cannon Beach, and spotted the “You live on stolen land” scrawling.

Last year, I began the new year by visiting Beacon Rock.

There I spotted “To the earth we belong”.   Some honor the earth by vandalizing it with political messages.

If I visit the Columbia Gorge I notice this “Go home colonizer” and “stolen land” at the trail head.

If I visit the ocean at Astoria, I notice Antifa stickers.

As Oregon liberal leaders and liberal media sanctioned the various Oregon riots (race, anti-police, Gaza, Columbus Day protests, immigration) it gave tacit legitimacy to vandals.  Acts of wrecking things become a virtuous political act to the liberal vandal.   Sad to see Oregon embrace this ugliness.

It is also sad to see various communities and government properties fail to to take responsibility by removing such graffiti.   If the Park employees do not speedily remove vandalism they will soon get more.
