SB 548 Hearing: Ups marriage age


Senate Bill 548 increases marriage age to 18.

There is a hearing on Feb 17th in the House Economic Development, Small Business, and Trade Committee on SB 548.

Senate bill 548 (SB 548) moves the marriage minimum age from 17 (with parent consent) to 18 (no consent needed). Currently, Oregonians can get married at age 17 if they have parental consent or 18 without consent.

SB 548 summary;“The Act increases the age a person must be to get married to 18.”
