Cartoon explains Kicker theft, Kotek scam, sex offender freebie

Two very important incidences happened this week.

#1.  The Wildfire Funding Workgroup released their list of recommendations on how to fund Oregon wildfire efforts.   They recommended (1) stealing the current people’s Kicker Income Tax Refund ($600 to $700 average you may get), (2) a 5-cent bottle/can tax, (3) tire tax and a $10 property tax fee.

#2. At the same time, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek authored two bills, SB 820 and SB 821, would lower the rules and delay processing the threat classification for 18,000 Oregon sex offenders who are backlogged by the parole board.   This means thousands of sex offenders would likely not be registered under the new standard.

How could Kotek and lawmakers approve a 20% budget increase two years ago, but now say there was no money to process sex offenders and no money to fight wildfires.

Here is the chart showing how much our State budget has grown:

Here is where your tax dollars have been going:

– $29 million spent on hotels for non-citizens.

– $38 million in tax funds (state, local) to bailout the Hillsboro Hops baseball team.

– $200,000 tax dollars spent on conference event for Kotek’s wife with 28 guests.

– $22 million in legal costs over the Oregon State Foster System scandal.

– $30,000 grants for non-citizens to buy homes

– Nearly $50 million spent studying and promoting tolling in Oregon (OPB).

– AFSCME government unions received a 6% raise and $1,500 cost-of-living bonus.

– Number of state government employees making over $100,000 grew over 23%.

— Portland teachers set to make over $100,000 a year.

– $134 million to build a Portland bridge where only buses can cross (no cars allowed)

Millions spent on art programs that are not doing art — like the Portland Art Museum that showcases free movie nights.   Taxpayers should not be paying for people to watch movies.

– Tax dollars wasted producing controversial Don’t-drink-wine TV ads that were pulled.

– Tax dollars wasted producing Blobby voting ads

– Oregon had so much money that they had to last year do statewide announcements to look for 10,000 people to collect free $120 in their EBT program to buy free food.

– Kotek under fire by The Oregonian this year for pushing costly PLA mandate that needlessly forces Oregon to pay more for constructions projects.

— Kotek plans government job boost while massive private sector layoffs.

Here is the Kotek scam — FUND everything NOT-IMPORTANT and then UNDERFUND the critical IMPORTANT items.   This way politicians can hold taxpayers hostage.  They are basically saying, “Give up your Tax Refund Kicker or watch the state burn”.

Do not let the politicians steal your Kicker Refund and do not let them let sex offenders go free.
