Imitation may be the greatest form of flattery, but a Disney+ program’s use of a logo similar to the one federally trademarked by the Portland Pickles left a sour taste in the Oregon team’s mouth—and resulted in a lawsuit filed on May 7. The Portland Pickles, a collegiate summer baseball team that plays in the West Coast League, filed a lawsuit claiming that the logo used by a fictional co-ed softball team, the Peaks Valley Pickles, created by Pixar Animation Studios and aired on “Win or Lose” closely resembles theirs and infringes on their 2016 trademark, according to KATU.com. Both logos feature green pickles wearing baseball caps, one blue and one green. Disney+ began streaming the “Win or Lose” program in February and selling Peaks Valley Pickles merchandise with the logo in question. Rose City Baseball LLC, parent company of the Portland Pickles, compared the lawsuit as a case of the little guy battling a giant to protect the team’s rights and eliminate any confusion in the marketplace.

But wait!

There is also a Madrid Soccer pickle mascot.  The two have met and apparently get along.
