De-escalate to stop riot? Portland did and riots lasted 120 days!

Both California Governor Gavin Newsom and former Vice President Kamala Harris blame Trump for the riots, saying his involvement in calling for law enforcement back-up is an escalation tactic.   Yet, we remind everyone, Portland practiced maximum de-escalation when they (a) pulled police from most riots, (b) allowed protesters to take over the highways and city streets with no police presence  (c) restricted use of tear gas and riot control devices more than most cities and (D) gave in to rioters demands by defunding police, pulling police from school security, closing the gun violence task force, passing a dozen police restriction bills and still they rioted for over 120 days straight.
