Senator Merkley slow to file for re-election

Willamette Week has noted that U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley has waited beyond his own deadline to file again for re-election.  This is fueling speculation that he not run again which woudl set off a frenzy of candidate for the May Primary in 2026.
