Rumor: Gov. Kotek has left for Hawaii?

Two different rumor sources say Oregon Governor Tina Kotek has bailed Oregon for Hawaii during this critical time and fresh-off her $200,000 taxpayer-paid trip to Asia.   This also comes off the Labor Day weekend where she forced lawmakers to cancel their family vacation plans to attend a Special Emergency Legislative Session that she herself did not attend, nor testify on her own gas tax bill at the hearing.   Speculation at that time was that she was too busy vacationing on the Oregon Coast.

While Governor Kotek has been doing nothing, she had been blocking voters from doing something. Kotek delayed signing her own gas tax bill as a delay tactic to prevent voters from launching the referendum petition drive (StopTheGasTax.com).  That petition drive is awaiting final approval from the Oregon Elections Office.  As this battle over gas taxes begins, her ODOT Director resigned this week.

All of this disconnect Kotek has in Oregon, may be a sign that her time is over.  Kotek was twice rated as the least liked Governor in America, which is another sign that voters consider her checked-out.
