Lars Larson: Broken promises, Kotek’s chickens come home to roost

Less than a year remains in the reign of Queen Kotek…or Tent City Tina as many of us know her.

It’s time the media that covers Kotek starts demanding she explain all her broken promises.

Kotek promised voters transparency on government actions and that’s her biggest failure…she won’t tell the citizens she allegedly serves what’s going on.

ODOT…one of Queen Tina’s executive branch agencies…lied to and extorted the biggest tax hike in history by threatening to end basic services if they didn’t get more cash.

Kotek left that tax hike unsigned for almost a month and a half while she took a 200-thousand dollar junket to Asia with her wife.

Despite that, we got the new over the weekend that two-thirds of the signatures required to refer that crazy tax and fee hike to voters have already come in…in just days.

When it DOES qualify for the ballot, the tax hike goes on hold till voters have their say almost a year from now…which leaves Governor Kotek billions short.

She could be honest with voters…admit her duplicity and order ODOT to live within its means…or keep on lying…because so far, those lies haven’t cost her much at all.
