$20M in unspent housing $$ from landlord tax

By Taxpayers Association of Oregon Foundation,

Portland’s Housing Bureau just announced that they had discovered over $20 million of unspent money. The money was from the city’s Residential Rental Registration program which taxes landlord for every unit they have. The tax is meant to fund people’s rent and eviction services.

This shows that government is quick to take people’s money but slow in getting it to the people in need.
