The fact that five Oregon counties have no coronavirus cases may play an important role in a strategic regional re-opening of Oregon.
As of April 24, a total of 31 of Oregon’s 36 counties reported COVID-19 cases. The five counties with no reported cases are Baker, Harney, Gilliam, Lake, and Wheeler. Crook, Grant, Sherman and Wallowa each had one case; Jefferson had two.
We recognize that the counties are among Oregon least populated, but we will take any good news we can in the middle of a global pandemic, no matter how small.
We hope and work towards better safety numbers and increased recovery numbers across the state.
