KPTV did a story on several Washington County schools conducting a walk-out to protest ICE.   One protester said, “By just standing by and letting this happen you could be next, A.), and B.) this is going to be written in history books and people who wonder what they would have done back in WWII, if they would have fought, or just given in, this is the time when you’re putting to test your morals.”

An OPB story featured a student with a sign that read, “No one is illegal on stolen land.”

Another sign said “Kick ICE out the door”

We think it would be great to use this moment in time as a chance to have an academic discussion. The schools should arrange a town hall with ICE agents and students and voices from all sides to have a civil discussion on immigration enforcement.
