Oregon economy lags nation. Gas tax to make it worse.

The latest economic news spells trouble for Oregon.

The Oregonian reports, “Nationally, incomes grew more than three times faster than Oregon incomes did in both 2023 and 2024. And Oregon’s growth rate was below the rate of inflation in both years. That means the typical household has less buying power.”

As Oregonians are losing buying power, along comes Oregon Governor Kotek’s $4.3 billion gas tax, 300% DMV fee increase, and 100% transit wage tax increase.  That tax will further strip away Oregon’s buying power.  The wage tax portion will diminish wages.  The gas tax portion will cost drivers every time they go to the pump. Then the gas tax will raise the cost of groceries and everything on the shelf you buy as delivery costs rise.

While the rest of America is seeing triple wage growth, Oregon is shrinking.

This is a huge problem.

Voters should stop this gas tax by singing the referendum petition against it at Stop the Gas Tax.com
