The Northwest Nonsense

Life’s about choices. You can see the result of that today as the entire region gets hit by wind storms and more rain than we’ve seen in a long time and choices by our so-called leaders left a big mess.

Citizens watch their roads and houses wash away.

I’m not suggesting you can legislate meteorology.

But lawmakers could make some smarter choices to prepare the region for floods and storms.

The legislatures in Salem and Olympia never seem to run short of money to blow on Diversity, equity and inclusion or trendy stuff like solar, wind and battery cars.

Lately they’re promising tens of millions for legal defense of illegal alien invaders.

Drug addicted homeless who make up a tiny fraction of one percent of the population get literally billions from Oregon and Washington and it doesn’t fix the problem.

My proposal: chop all that nonsense out of state and local budgets and build some flood control . Upgrade the region’s deteriorating electric grid. Get some backup power in place like the new plan to keep the old Centralia Coal plant running on clean natural gas.

If you’re sitting there in the dark right now would you rather have power…or more political correctness?

That’s the Rose City Rap. Join me at noon on KXL for 4 hours of Honestly provocative talk. I’m Lars Larson
