Expect a $400 Kicker Refund in 2026

Oregon budget forecasters have estimated that the size of Oregon’s over-collected tax surplus is $1.7 billion.  Based on previous Kicker forecast rough estimates, this will likely mean a $300 to $500 average Kicker Income Tax Return for the average Oregon income taxpayer.   They will be able to claim this when they file their taxes in April.  We alert our readers because the State no longer sends out a check, but people must claim it on their taxes in order to receive it — and many miss it.

Don’t forget, in 2025 there was a House Bill, Senate Bill and a Governor Kotek plan to steal your Kicker.

The Taxpayers Association was there to stop all three attempts to steal your Kicker tax Refund.

Please support our efforts at protecting your Kicker:

#1. Free Oregon political tax credit: Donations to the Taxpayers Association of Oregon PAC are eligible for the Oregon Political Tax Credit and can receive 100% back on your Oregon taxes. A tax credit is better than a deduction because you can get 100% of your donation back up to $50 per person/$100 couple.

#2. Charitable donation:  You can make a Charitable Tax Deduction to the Taxpayers Association of Oregon Foundation.   You can donate stock, IRA disbursements and cash.

#3. Where most needed.  Please donate to our 501c(4) non-profit Taxpayers Association of Oregon here.  There is no deduction, but it is where it is most needed.
