Many of the leading governor candidates attended a very unique post-election GOP unity event this last Wednesday.  Even other candidates from other races, including those who had lost, were there to be recognized, thanked and in their own way to show unity behind the winner.

Christine Drazan was a keynote speaker, who was very humble as she said, “It is not about me. I repeat it is not about me.”, as she focused attention on the consequential campaign ahead and her need for everyone’s help.  Drazan showcased that Kotek is vulnerable and reminded the audience that Trump won more votes in Oregon in 2020 (919,000+) than Kotek did in 2022 (917,000+).  She then, unscripted, invited the other candidates to come up and speak.

Former candidate Chris Dudley roused the audience when he said, “In basketball, you hash out your disagreements in the locker room, so you can hit the court unified”.

Rep. Diehl rallied around the unity message and shared how much is at stake.

Candidate David Medina shared on not being afraid to speak the truth.

Many Oregon primaries battles have left their political party wounded and divided.  This year, we see a spirit of working together.  This is not only because things have become so dire in Oregon, but also because the candidates who ran in 2026 helped to leave Oregon better than when they first started.
