The Christine Drazan for Oregon campaign has shared a new Public Opinion Strategies poll of 600 registered voters across Oregon, between June 22 and 24, that show that Oregon candidate Christine Drazan is leading incumbent Governor Tina Kotek by 4%.  The poll shows Drazan at 48% and Kotek 44%.

This is close to another poll in May that had Kotek at 45% and Drazan at 44%.

Here are reasons why:

#1. Gas tax defeat: The historic gas tax defeat was an 8-month train wreck that ended with a whopping 84% defeat.

#2. Drazan’s outreach: Drazan spent millions during the Oregon May Primary with a positive message and high enthusiasm as measured by the near-record Republican turn-out.

#3.  Kotek flops on Blazer controversy:  Governor Kotek botched the Blazer arena bailout, where is caught pushing a sloppy idea that over 70% of Oregonians do not want.

#4. Kotek on wrong side of data centers: Governor Kotek got caught on the wrong side of the data center debate.,  Kotek tried to double tax credits for these data centers at a time when both progressives and conservatives have been fighting it.

#5. The pain of high cost-of-living is among its worst.  High gas prices, high housing prices and high grocery prices.

Gas prices:

Cost of living:

High electricity prices:

#6. People remember Senator Drazan’s battle for taxpayers.  Senator Christine Drazan was involved in both gas tax battles (2025 Legislature, 2025 Special Session) and the Carbon Tax battles (2019, 2020) and the Corporate Activities Tax battle.  For all of Kotek’s bad ideas, Drazan has been there as a voice of opposition and a voice for taxpayer families who can’t afford it.
