#1 safest, most privileged job during pandemic — government!

The Oregon Department of Employment Statistics reports that the industry that was the most safest from job loss during the pandemic has been local government jobs.

Government sacrificed the least while the State sheds jobs.

Many government employees also received $1,500 pandemic bonuses on top of raises.

Tellingly, among government jobs lost, surely had to have been law enforcement as Portland alone shed 100 positions, and other cities suffered massive shortages.

Vanishing businesses means vanishing tax revenue, so maybe that is why Governor Brown raised 17% tax on small businesses to make up for the lost revenue and to pay for the expanding government job base.
