3 big gun bills hearings this week

Three big Second Amendment bills are up for a hearing in the Hosue Judiciary on Wednesday March 22nd

HB 2005 reads Defines “undetectable firearm.” Punishes manufacturing, importing, offering for sale or transferring undetectable firearm by maximum of 10 years’ imprisonment, $250,000 fine, or both

HB 2007 readsAuthorizes governing bodies of certain public entities that own or control public building to adopt policy, ordinance or regulation or precluding affirmative defense for possession of firearms in public building and adjacent grounds by concealed handgun licensees.

HB 2006 explanation, “Provides that a person commits the crime of unlawful possession of a firearm if the person is under 21 years of age. Provides that a person does not commit the crime of unlawful possession of a firearm if the person is at least 18 years of age and not otherwise prohibited from possessing: a single-shot rifle, whether centerfire or rimfire; a double-barreled shotgun; a repeating rifle, whether centerfire or rimfire, that has a bolt, lever, pump, straight-pull or revolving action; a rifle with an attached tubular magazine designed to accept, and capable of operating only with, .22 caliber rimfire ammunition; a muzzleloader rifle; or a shotgun with a pump, break, level, revolving action (ORS 166.250(2)(b)); or is a minor and temporarily possesses the firearm if it was transferred to the minor by their parent or guardian. Provides that a person may not intentionally sell, deliver or otherwise transfer a firearm when the transferor knows or reasonably should know that the recipient is under 21 years of age…”
