Rep. Dexter runs for open Congress #3 seat

Oregon State Representative Maxine Dexter (D-Portland) has announced that she is running for the highly prized and highly contested Congressional District #3 race (Portland) being vacated by Oregon Congressman Earl Blumenauer.

Other entries include Gresham City Councilor Eddy Morales and former Multnomah County Commissioner Susheela Jayapal.

Maxine Dexter states Mother, physician, state representative. These are the roles by which I care for people with all my heart and a deep desire to serve my community. It’s a privilege to serve the people of Oregon and I have proven myself to be an effective, pragmatic and progressive policymaker in Salem. My service is driven by one purpose – to give back to the community that has given me so much.
