BANKS, OR – Today, Republican Darcey Edwards announced her candidacy for the upcoming open seat in Oregon’s House District 31 as current State Representative Brian Stout indicates he is retiring from office.

“I am excited by this opportunity to be able to serve as your next State Representative in House District 31 and for you in Salem,” said Edwards.

“In my life it seems at every turn our state policies and laws obstruct me from making the best choices for my family – from adoption to property rights to running my small business to health care. I’ve never been willing to tolerate bureaucratic nonsense in my own life and now I will work to roll it back for all Oregonians.”

Darcey Edward’s initial campaign endorsements include:

• Representative Brian Stout
• Senator Suzanne Weber
• Former Washington County Senator Bruce Starr
• Oregon Right to Life PAC

Darcey Edwards, a native of Northwest Oregon, is deeply rooted in her community. Graduating from public school in Banks, she went on to work in the Washington County tech industry and then established her own highly successful real estate firm.

Darcey has made a significant impact in several roles such as the Membership Coordinator for the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce and providing childcare services to local families. She has served on the boards of Xpose Hope, a faith-based non-profit reaching out to members of the adult entertainment industry, and TVW Inc., a local business dedicated to providing employment services for people with disabilities. She has also volunteered for the Justice Center of Washington County.

Darcey and her husband Rob have been happily married for 33 years, raising three children, two of whom they adopted through the Oregon Department of Human Services.
