This past week Oregon Governor Tina Kotek held a press conference and praised herself for her efforts to house nearly 650 people according to her homeless initiative  benchmarks.

But wait, 650 seems like a lot until you COMPARE it to the big picture.

By the latest numbers from PSU released in 2024, Oregon’s homeless grew by 8.5%.

That is 1,700 new homeless in Oregon in a single year.

For every homeless person Kotek help shuffled into a home — there were nearly three  more homeless people who showed up into our state or were taxed into poverty by Governor Kotek’s new taxes and fees.  That is not sustainable!

Kotek’s homeless initiatives, along with local efforts, are costing taxpayers billions in new taxes to fund homeless and affordable housing programs in the last six years.
