2 fake firemen (ex-arsonist) arrested from Oregon

By Taxpayers Association of Oregon Foundation,

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two Oregonians who tried to enter a Palisades Fire evacuation zone while pretending to be firefighters, a day after they admitted having been granted access to the zone, according to LA Sheriff’s Office.

Dustin Nehl, 31, and Jennifer Nehl, 44, in a firetruck bought at an auction claimed to serve in the Roaring River Fire Department in Oregon, which doesn’t exist. They dressed as firefighters, wore helmets, and carried radios, according to the report. Dustin Nehl has prior convictions in Oregon for criminal mischief and arson.

The pair face charges of impersonating firefighters and entering an evacuation zone. The truck was impounded.

Oregon has a history of out-of-control arson and arsonists.

Below is an arson map over just 10 days during the 2020 Portland riots.

This Portland suspect below was arrested for arson and released the same day for which he was re-arrested for arson again with a home-made Molotov Cocktail he was using to try to burn dry brush near a highway.

One person posted this message to the original LA Sheriff story saying that the couple may be innocent. The post read, “PLEASE, I just want everyone to consider waiting for charges before starting rumors. She has a background in fire as a smoke jumper, forestry law, has a masters degree teaching children science and weather. This is more than likely good intentions gone HORRIBLY wrong after a personal traumatic loss of a newborn a few weeks ago. I’ve known Jenni a long time and while I cannot speak for her new husband or their intentions as we’ve grown apart over the years, it seems more likely to me they were trying to feel important/be heroes during what feels like an impossible time emotionally.”
