1000% increase in unruly passengers (chart)

By Taxpayers Association of Oregon

— The number of unruly passengers on airlines has exploded to new levels according to the Wall Street Journal.   This is a 1,000% increase from the 2017 low of around 500 unruly passengers until the peak of 5,800 in 2021.  This shows the impact from several factors; the pandemic, tight Covid rules on airplanes (passengers had to keep a mask at all times even between bites), labor shortage, computer crashes, and a general decrease in civility in America.
