Action call: Kicker threat deadline, Death tax petition

The Oregon 35-Day Session is in the last two weeks.

Two things we need you to act on:

#1. Call your lawmaker to stop the two Kicker theft bills. 

#2. Stop the lawmakers from tinkering with the death tax by helping us get the Abolish Oregon Death Tax petition on the November ballot.

Please act on both below.

KICKER DEADLINE:  Lawmakers have only 13 days left to pass on of their two Kicker Theft bills (HB 4125, SJR 201).  We almost have it killed.   Call both your Senator and State Representative at 1-800-332-2313 and tell them to not steal your Kicker and “Vote No on HB 4125 and SJR 201.” If you don’t know your lawmakers go here and go to find your lawmaker button at the bottom right.

ABOLISH DEATH TAX PETITION: The politicians are fretting over bad headlines that Oregon is one of the only 12 states with a death tax and that businesses are leaving Oregon because of it and that there is a petition circulating as we speak to abolish it. So the politicians created SB 1511, which would lower the death tax for some but raise it for others as a flawed fix in hopes of handicapping the petition campaign by saying they fixed the problem.   The best solution is to get the petition on the ballot.
