Denyc Boles unanimously chosen for Oregon Senate

By Reagan Knopp —

Marion and Polk County commissioners met this morning to make the final selection to fill the state senate seat left vacant by the passing of Senator Jackie Winters last month.

The choice was between State Representative Denyc Boles, Oregon Republican Party Secretary Becky Mitts, and Polk County Republican Party Chair Kevin Chambers.

The commissioners voted unanimously for Denyc Boles.

Boles’ appointment to the Oregon Senate creates a vacancy in Oregon House District 19.

The process to fill the House seat will commence after she is officially sworn into the Senate.
