METRO’s 26-218 tax loots Clackamas to fund other counties

METRO’s wage tax measure 26-218 is asking Clackamas county to bear most of the burden of a $5 billion spending package. This is not fair.

This wage tax hits Clackamas County just like the other counties, but only 18% of their taxes will be funding projects in their county. Multnomah County gets 53% of the project’s spending and Washington at 29%.

This is another reason why voters should reject METRO’s wage tax on local workers.
