Portland DEATH MAP: What defund police has wrought

Last year, Portland broke a record for homicides thanks to defunding police by over $12 million and cutting 100 law enforcement positions.  Portland even broke a national record for highest rate of increase of any city in 2021.

We show where the homicides occurred and used a chalk outline to represent the fact that actual people were killed.
