Cheri Helt: State failed to properly pay 10,000 workers

Cheri Helt for BOLI Commissioner,

Over the last seven months, nearly 10,000 home-care workers employed by the state did not receive their full paycheck on time, a clear violation of state law. This is simply unacceptable. As BOLI Commissioner, I will hold our own government accountable when they refuse to follow the law and ensure that Oregon workers receive the wages they have earned. There should be no double standards when it comes to enforcing the laws on the books.

Oregonians have had enough of “software glitches.” On my first day in office, I will order an emergency review of BOLI’s performance and request an external audit by the Secretary of State. Taxpayers want results, not glitches.
