Oregon’s Largest Governor Straw Poll Results

As in times past, the Taxpayer Association of Oregon has again conducted a straw poll to gauge Oregonians on a much discussed election.  The Governor Straw Poll was utilized to get voters to open up about the issues they expect the Governor candidate to tackle as well as insights into 12 other questions (gun regulations, tolling freeways, etc.) which will be discussed in future posts.

Nearly 400 Oregonians participated making it Oregon’s largest governor straw poll.

Here are the open-ended responses on what issues they hope the 2019 Governor will address.

The open-ended questions show a strong concern for high taxes and reduce wasteful government spending.

— The poll was conducted by mail of Oregonians who are active in the Taxpayer Association of Oregon and Oregon politics in various capacities.  The results are a straw poll which is not designed to be the same as a scientific statewide poll nor reflect or influence current decision making, but rather get people engaged and reflect their opinions at a given time while delving deeper with a dozen other issues.
