3 worker strikes hit the NW

• AFSCME Local 328, have voted to authorize a strike for the 7,000 workers at Oregon Health & Science University as they are requesting a 24% pay increase over three years.  The union said, “We want to be able to afford to live in the community that we work in,”

• In Seattle,  95% of The Seattle Education Association voted to strike.  The first day of school was cancelled.

• 2,000 Kaiser Permanente Mental Health Workers which represent Northern California voted to strike

Ridgefield Washington is also debating a strike.
