No Eugene road tax (20-333) while City awash in cash

EUGENE’S MEASURE 20-333 IS A WHOPPING $61 MILLION PROPERTY TAX BOND TO PAY FOR EUGENE ROAD PROJECTS.

• Eugene has Oregon’s 3rd highest city gas tax (on top of Oregon’s 8th highest gas tax in nation). Why isn’t this road tax revenue high enough to help Eugene roads more?

• Oregon is receiving $4.5 billion in road/building money from Biden’s $3 trillion Infrastructure bill. Why isn’t this infrastructure money being used for Eugene roads? Does Congress have to spend another $3 trillion in order for infrastructure money to actually reach Eugene?

• Oregon is in the middle of a recession and inflation crisis. Shouldn’t politicians offer a more modest property tax bond ballot measure to help protect its citizens from poverty?
