Shops graffiti themselves to ward off vandalism (photo)

Here is a restaurant in NE Portland that graffitied itself on its outside dining as a likely way to ward off political graffiti that was in the area.

This seldom works.

Not far away from the restaurant was a building that put a massive artistic mural in hipster style, only to be vandalized, covered with white paint, and vandalized a second time.

In downtown Portland, a mural was erected to remember the police shooting for Kendra James.  This social justice message was ignored as someone spray painted her face and the whole block with anarchist political messages.

The idea that you can vandalize yourself or make social justice images to protect yourself, won’t appease those who riot.
