In 2020, Portland defunded their police by 100 positions and roughly 15 million dollars.

Coincidentally, Portland has announced plans for a new $15 million skate park, complete with graffiti-themed decor as seen in their promotional designs.  Part of the idea of a massive skate park is to help young people stop committing acts of crime.   It apparently does not dawn on liberals that you can indeed reduce crime by improving 911 call response times by having more officers and solve more crimes by actually having more detectives.

Previously, Portland during the riots considered hiring dozens of unarmed park patrol rangers as a way to add back lost police officers without having to actually hire police officers.
