Portland gives away 15K of what Olympics banned

To help 500+ U.S. Olympic athletes in their quest for a gold medal, the U.S. Olympic teams are bringing their own portable air conditioning units to their dorm rooms at the Paris games. The Olympics organizers planned to not have any air conditioners in an effort to cut carbon emissions.

The Washington Post reported that Britain, Australia, Canada, Germany and Italy are also bringing their own air conditioners to France.

At the same time Portland is planning to hand out 15,000 air conditioners to citizens as a measure to keep them from dying in a heat wave.

Opening ceremonies will be on July 26th and the games conclude on August 11th.
