2 odd items being sold at PDX airport

Two items being sold at the Portland International Airport caught our attention.

#1. Seeing the world’s most famous hijacker, D.B. Cooper, being promoted and sold as an action figure in an airport itself — even more since it is at an airport near where it all occurred.   D.B. Cooper is now official mythology.  Very unusual.

#2. Seeing shot-glasses with the phrase “Portland Effing Oregon” as part of a larger trend we see which is to paint Portland as a bad-boy, crass and edgy city.  This comes as the Portland Mayor recently said tourism was down in the City because Portland had a negative national image.   Can Portland sell itself as a rebel?   You decide.
