Word spreads — Portland allows free rioting

In so many ways, the rest of America speaks about Portland’s unusual tolerance for rioting, which only attracts more rioters.

On Fox News (Laura Ingraham, 6/11/25) Florida Governor Ron DeSantis quipped on how Portland gives rioters a hand-slap for acts of violence.  So true, since 660 riot charges were dropped in 2020.  This is why so many of the people who got arrested in Portland were from out of town.   The word is out that Portland is a safe place to riot.

Here is what Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis said about Portland, “We didn’t let that happen in Florida [rioting].  We recognize that this is what the Left does, so in Florida we did landmark anti-rioting legislation. So in Florida, if you riot,  if you loot, if you engage in any type of violence, you are not going to be treated like they treat you in Portland where you get a slap you on the wrist and then you just get put back on the street. You do that in Florida you are going to jail and be held accountable.”

There was also the time when the Attorney General of Georgia began assisting arresting Atlanta rioters pledging that the City was “not Oregon”

DeSantis even offered to help California Governor Gavin Newsom, but was rejected.
