Liberals pass largest tax in Oregon history

LIBERAL POLITICIANS RAM LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN OREGON HISTORY THROUGH COMMITTEE
By Oregon House Republican Office,
SALEM, Ore. – Tax-and-spend liberal politicians advanced one of the largest tax hikes in Oregon’s history. With an estimated $11.7 billion price tag, House Bill 2025 adds dozens of new taxes and fee increases to fund a progressive left agenda that harms Oregonians. Democrats notably had to remove, shuffle, and add four partisan Democrats to muscle the bill out of committee.
“Tax-and-spend Salem politicians are determined to ignore Oregonians,” said House Republican Leader Christine Drazan (R-Canby). “Forcing families to pay the largest tax hike in history when they can barely get by is cruel. House Republicans have remained focused on addressing the needs of everyday Oregonians and their families who are overwhlemed by the cost of living and never-ending tax hikes.”
“Over 4,000 pieces of testimony have been submitted with 70% of Oregonians staunchly opposed to this bill. Their message is clear: Oregon families cannot afford $11.7 billion in new taxes and fees,” said Rep. Shelly Boshart Davis (R-Albany), Co-Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Transportation Reinvestement. “The largest tax hike in Oregon’s history is not a compromise – it’s grossly irresponsible.”
House Bill 2025 now heads to the House Floor for a vote.
