Intoxicated driver (13). High-speed chase. Crash

Six teens including a suspected intoxicated 13 year old driver sent cops on a high-speed chase on Interstate-18 in Portland.  Use of police road spikes caused the car to stop and crash.  The driver booked and returned to his grandparents.

This is another sign of parent-less teens along with a City that permits all kinds of low-level lawlessness (trespassing, protest vandalism, open drug use).  Portland has struggled with street takeovers where flash-mob crowds gather for illegal drag racing and dangerous car antics.  These street takeovers encourage car criminality.

Progressives see it a different way.  Erika commented online, “This is why funding schools is important by the way! Studies show that children who do after-school activities are less likely to become criminals “.

For liberals taxes is the only answer to every problem.

Yet the Oregonian noted that as school funding boomed — test scores fell.
