American Legion patriot packet for kids makes me proud

Oregon 250.com
a project to honor America’s 250th.

At the recent Air Show the American Legion was passing out patriot packets to children.

It included a comic book called “Light of Liberty”. The comic book shared how to be a good citizen. In the comic there is a patriotic colonial soldier who says “There’s a light of liberty in each of you and in very good citizen.” What a positive, feel-good, inspirational, wise and instructive statement to share. I hope all kids see this message in their lives.

Another great quote is when the girl says, “Being free means being responsible too!”

The packet also featured a mini-American flag, patriotic stickers and a ruler with the Presidents of the United States.

The stickers had a label that said “Veterans strengthening America”. So true. So very true.

This is a beautiful way to instill into our children the values of liberty, responsibility and gratefulness, so they, in turn, can pass it along to their future children.

My thanks goes out to the Oregon American Legion for their creativity, stewardship and kindness.   Bless you.  Bless you.  Bless you.
