In-N-Out Burger blocked from Beaverton

Washington County has denied the famous burger chain, In-N-Out, their request to locate a store in Hillsboro at 10565 S.W. Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway where other restaurants are nearby.

The denial was based on a land-use decision that the location could not properly handle the traffic that the restaurant would bring.  It is now being appealed before the Land Use Appeals Board.

Notice, that Washington County favored business, Intel, recently said they were going to build their next big $20 billion plant in Ohio because, in part, they could not find access-able commercial land in Oregon.

A recent Oregonian headline says that three chip makers were looking at Oregon but land-use laws and taxes are a barrier.

Land-use laws and available land are among the top reasons many companies both big and small do not locate in the area.

In Corvallis there is a controversy over Chic-fil-A opening in that town.
