Refreshingly honest media headline on school $$

We love this headline by KATU-2 that notes that students are protesting for more funding at a time when enrollment is dropping.

KATU-2 news states, “Oregon schools are requesting additional funding even as enrollment has steadily declined, a trend often cited by critics who question whether funding increases are justified.Data from the Oregon Department of Education shows statewide K-12 enrollment has fallen from about 582,000 students in 2020 to roughly 540,000 in 2026, a drop of more than 43,000 students, or about 7%.”

During the pandemic, Oregon was a one of the top states for charter school enrollment.  This means they are leaving traditional publci schools.
