Ore. vaccinated teachers before seniors, yet schools #7 most closed

Oregon was one of only two states to put government school teachers ahead of the line for vaccination.  That put many teachers ahead of some seniors and ahead of 20,000 front line health care workers who were mis-categorized by a state government mistake (but not reassigned to first access to vaccines).

Even though we put government school teachers first, Oregon has been ranked among the bottom seven schools for percent of school districts operating fully in person as rated by the American Enterprise Institute and Davidson College.

The Oregonian ran an article suggesting that this teachers-before-seniors decisions may have contributed to many people’s deaths during the recent spike.

Why did we rush teachers if they are not teaching in class?

More and more this looks like a political decision rather than a saving life decision.
