After teacher strike … comes teacher STAFF strike

The Portland Federation of School Professionals held a practice picket at Benson High School on Sunday. They are striking to get the same type of raises Portland teachers received last Fall during their strike. The union staff say half of their staff have to to work two jobs to make ends meet — despite Oregon government employees making more than the average worker on average.

Even the local teachers union was upset that the school administrative staff grew 67% since 2017. This comes as student enrollment declines.

Also, last month Portland Public School janitors also threatened a strike.
