Oregon #2 worst pharmacy access (thanks CAT tax!)

A new report puts Oregon among the second worst state in America for having access to pharmacy.

Last year 35 rural pharmacies in Oregon closed as noted by OPB.

Oregon’s 2019 Corporate Activities Tax (CAT tax) taxes business based on revenue not profit.

This is a big blow to pharmacies which have massive revenues but thin and narrow profit margins.

The CAT tax doesn’t care, it hits companies hard on the revenue (not profit) and even taxes companies that are losing money and on the brink bankruptcy.

This CAT tax is why Bi-Mart had to close their pharmacies.
