OPB reports that around 40% of Portland City employees work partially from home.

That averages to usually half of the week not in the office.

Portland’s new Mayor-elect Keith Wilson is asking for workers to come in at least 4-days a week.

Employees are protesting. One union representative said that if this mayor mandate passes, people will quit.

The director of the Portland Community Safety Division does his $208,263 public safety job mostly from a gated resort community in Las Vegas.

Dude had dream job.

When it comes to measuring work-from-home for both public and private, Oregon ranks among the top states in America coming in at #2.   Yet, the Portland government sector (40%) appears to be twice the rate of the already high national ranking (20%) of private/public rank.

We also note that the coincidence of high work-from home states to states that have legalized marijuana early.
