Union wants 42% raise … and self-serve gas ban

The union, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 555 representing Kaiser Permanente is asking for a 42% raise in their next contract.

This is the same union that is spending union dues to push a new petition to strike down Oregon’s new law allowing Oregonians to pump their own gas as is done in 49 other states. We previously wrote about the petition here.

This is the same union that spent $300,000 trying to recall a pro-union Democrat lawmaker and failed at the ballot by 90%.

Another union, is involved in the Portland teacher strike and they are asking for $200 million extra spending.  Their strike has had pushback from Governor Tina Kotek and even lawmakers this week.

Previously in 2022, Portland teachers asked for a 4-day school week.

Also, unions wanted the State of Oregon to pay travel costs for employees who live out-of-state to come into work.
